Facilities Task Group Report

Introduction

The Facilities Task Group considered issues related to the use, function, condition of existing District schools and what we would like to see in the future. This report reflects many different interests, backgrounds and concerns. Taking a 50 to 75-year or longer view, we have a consensus vision that our schools will be wonderful places and healthy environments. Section IV of this report provides evidence that, over a 50-year period, major remodeling is neither cost-effective nor practical. Our conclusion is that our schools must be replaced and we recommend that replacement start now.
