BOUNDARIES

The school boundaries within the Eugene School District 4J are determined by a joint committee with members from the Instruction, Facilities Management and Transportation Departments. These boundaries consider pupil population and transportation routes and are relatively fixed over time. Recently, we have built, closed and consolidated schools and have changed several elementary school boundaries.

You may call the boundaries phone number at 687-3539 to receive information as to what neighborhood school your student should attend.

The Eugene School District 4J is an open enrollment district, provided there is room in a non-neighborhood school. Also, parents must provide transportation to non-neighborhood schools. Our alternative or magnet schools have the entire school district as a boundary, and no transportation is provided to these schools.

Boundaries between districts are determined by the respective school district and boards of education with final approval from Lane Education Service District.

If you would like detailed information on streets and addresses and their boundaries, there is a large district map, which is updated annually, in the lobby of the Instruction Department in the administration building.
