PERKINS GRANT

The Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technology Act of l998 is a four year grant aimed at developing the academic, vocational and technical skill of secondary students who are enrolled in professional technical education programs. Three goals guide this federal grant:

  1. To develop challenging academic standards
  2. To promote the development of services and activities that integrate academic, career and technical instruction that link secondary and post secondary education
  3. To provide services and activities designed to develop, implement and improve career and technical education.
Eugene School District identified local goals and measurement strategies aligned with the state plan for the four years.
