Get
ready to use two programs at once: Inspiration and Netscape/Explorer (outline). |
Follow these steps to learn how to "split the screen" so that you can see and use two programs at once. You will be reading information on the WWW, and taking notes on your Inspiration outline.

Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer. Do this by going to the Start menu in the lower left, dragging up to Programs, and chosing Internet Explorer. |

In the upper right hand corner, to the right of the "minimize" button (which looks like a small minus sign or dash), you should see a button with two overlapping boxes. If you don't, click on the box button that is there, and look again. Click on the overlapping boxes button. |

This
will enable you to see a size button which
you can use to click and drag the window smaller. Use the blue strip along
the top of the window to move it left/right. |

Using
the taskbar along the bottom, click on Inspiration to activate it, and
repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the two programs' windows can be seen, side
by side: |
