Through two 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grants, 15 Oregon schools in Bethel, Eugene, and Springfield provide free/low cost after school and evening programs for grade K-8 students and families. Over 30 community organizations have partnered with BEST to provide these programs, which offer a safe haven at school sites for students. They receive academic assistance, and participate in a variety of recreational activities. A family enrichment program includes foreign language and ESL classes, family crafts, open computer labs, and parent support groups.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the State of Oregon prohibit discrimination in all USDA programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, or disability.
