Sheldon is committed to providing the best possible education for all students. Our strong programs seek to prepare students for life in the 21st Century. In addition to an outstanding college preparatory curriculum, Sheldon offers interdisciplinary courses in communications, humanities, production technology, computer graphics, television, and health care and fitness. Special features include a fully networked computer center, a communication center, a media center, and many advanced academic programs. An Arts & Communication Academy, and a Health Careers Academy also provide growth opportunities in career related fields. Parents provide important support for staff and students at Sheldon. They are an active presence on site council, in parent groups, on campus and in volunteer roles. Interested parents can contact the school office for more information on how they might get involved. Student activities include a leadership class that is very active in student affairs, is open to all grade levels, and is active in promoting school spirit. The class is conducted by the Associated Student Body officers and their advisor. Sheldon students organize and support many activities as they strive to contribute to and learn about their community through community service activities and volunteerism. Our inter-cultural program incorporates our students' cultural heritage into our programs and activities and encourages students of all backgrounds to work together on behalf of their school. Sheldon also offers quality programs in drama and music, as well as in athletic competition for both men and women. |
