Leonardo da Vinci, located at Kelly Middle School, is an alternative middle school emphasizing technology, science, communication skills and problem-solving. The student body of 180 receives instruction in the traditional academic skills of language arts, social studies, science and mathematics supported by a wide variety of traditional and modern technologies. Students at da Vinci are integrated into the Kelly Middle School program for enrichment and physical education classes. A small, supportive learning environment, da Vinci provides ongoing student recognition, innovative teaching practices, emphasis on the whole student, a collaborative approach to teaching and learning, and a partnership with parents and the community. An equal number of male and female students are chosen for entry by lottery. To apply for admission, parents/guardians must attend one of the orientation sessions in January, February, or March.
