Kelly comprises three schools within a school: Colin Kelly (the neighborhood school), Leonardo da Vinci Alternative (a technology magnet arts school), and Yujin Gakuen Middle Level (the Japanese language immersion program, continuing from Yujin Gakuen Elementary). We are committed to providing all students with the social and academic skills required to reason, communicate, contribute, and live cooperatively with respect and dignity in a diverse world. Teachers engage in continuing training, and many parents volunteer at school. The school is divided into teams to provide small learning communities. An excellent program in the basic skills is augmented by strong science, foreign language, fine arts, and physical fitness programs. There are also many support and leadership opportunities for students, including: Student Council (three students are on Site Council), Kelly Greeters (new student orientation), Peer Mediation (conflict resolution), McStudy (after-school study hall), Ganas (Hispanic/Latino student after school study group), AlaTeen (drug and alcohol awareness/prevention), noon intramural sports, seasonal socials, and a talent show.
