| Roosevelt has a long history of innovation and
excellence in education as well as wide parental and community support
and involvement. "Choice" is a core value of the Roosevelt community. With
the help of parents and staff, students choose classes that best meet their
individual needs to become life-long learners. Each student and his or
her parents work regularly with an advisor all three years. All students
take a year-long, team-taught block class called "Connections." The highlight
of sixth grade is the annual Cultural Fair in which all students complete
and display a major project. During seventh grade year all students complete
a Service Learning project. Eighth graders spend time in the community
on a mentorship project. Roosevelt is also known for a strong fine arts
program - band and choir each have more than 200 students, and more than
75 take orchestra. Each year an annual musical is presented to the community
as a combined effort of our drama, music, art, shop and home economics
staff. |
