On August 31, 2004, the team of Kennedy administrators and teachers who attended the Eric Jensen training on "Teaching with the Brain in Mind" passed on their learnings to their school colleagues. They demonstrated teaching strategies, and had everyone involved, even the school mascot Border Collie.

Hung around the library are colorful posters highlighting the key concepts of teaching with the brain in mind.

[Click the pictures to see a bigger viewof the posters.]

Afteran energizer breakfast (quiche, rolls, juice, coffee) the staff gets ready for learning.

Principal Laurie Henry has the Kennedy Brain Team stand for recognition.

The staff training has been carefully planned, a model for successful teaching plans in the classroom. Click to download a PDF copy of the plan.

Ric stands by to cue the music, a vital aid to learning activities.

The Kennedy mascot models the appropriate degree of attention to information shown on the overhead: The Brain Matters!

Brain Team members present aspects they have learned about how the brain processes information.

Kennedy staff members take notes on prepared handouts to reinforce their own learning.
