Integral to the theory of change and action upon which this grant was developed was preparation and training of leadership staff. It is vital that staff actually have the skills to improve learning. The below points were used in inital determination of professional development needs and plan development:

  • Survery and focus groups on training needs.
  • Formation of K-12 Learning Communities.
  • Targeting "Achievement Gap" Schools
  • Hiring consultants/presenters on:
    • Change
    • Technology
    • Achievement gap
    • Brain friendly instruction
  • New administrator mentorship program
  • Literacy training for leaders
