About Us

Howard Elementary School is a K-5 Title One school.  We support the integrated use of technology that works for all learners in a technology rich environment in all classrooms.  Kindergarten has a 1:2 ratio and grades 1-5 are 1:1 of  laptop computers in all classrooms.  Utilizing interactive whiteboards and projectors in every classroom teachers access web based programs and software that addresses student learning primarily in reading and math with carryover to all aspects of the school curriculum.  In support of this effort pro-scopes, digital cameras, digital movie cameras, digital art tablets, student response systems, iPods and wireless tablets are an integral part digital toolbox teachers are using to help Howard students be successful learners.

We provide support for teachers through the use of a building technology coach, district trainers, podcasts and online webinars.  We believe that ongoing professional development is an essential part of our success for all Howard learners. We are building a model of “each one teach one”.  As staff master new technology skills they take on the role of mentor to pass on and support the information for all learners at Howard school. It’s an exciting place to work.
